The Complete Guide by LK VERDANT

What Is Home Fragrance?

Home fragrance is not just to mask odours, but to create mood, evoke memory and elevate everyday life. On average, each person spends nearly 75 of their time at home, that's 18 hours a day. At LK VERDANT, we believe home fragrance should feel as considered as the flowers you choose for your table.

From the delicate drift of an incense cone to a long-lasting room spray, the right scent can transform how a room feels the moment you walk in. That's why every blend we create is rooted in the natural world from British blooms, woodland botanics and warm oriental oud crafted to bring a sense of calm and tranquility to your home.

Understanding the Formats

Every home fragrance format has its own character and diffusion style that determines its best use. Here is your guide to each one and how to choose the right format for you.

Incense Cones

Incense cones are an ancient ritual made modern. Light the tip, then gently blow out the flame. A curl of fragrant smoke fills the room giving a gentle, lingering scent without the harshness of traditional incense.

Room Sprays

Room sprays are the quickest way to transform a space. A few spritzes into the air or onto soft furnishings and the scent blooms immediately especially convenient before guests arrive or before bed. Quick, easy and highly concentrated.

Wax Melts

A safer, flame-free way to fragrance your home. Beautifully releasing a continuous throw of scent from a ambient tealight oil burner or electric melt warmer. Fills the room and last for hours. A popular home fragrance product.

Scented / Fragrance Oil

Fragrance oils are crafted for oil burners and electric diffusers. A few drops of oil in water above a gentle tealight candle produces a
soft, enveloping mist of fragrance. Underused in modern homes, offering strong scent throws in open-living spaces.

Every LK VERDANT scent tells a story. Here is what to expect from each one.

Find Your Fragrance

There are three ways to choose a home fragrance and each leads to a different experience.

  • Choose by the room you want to scent and you start with the layout of your home.
  • Choose by the mood you want to create and you start with how you want to feel.
  • Choose by the notes themselves; oud, sandalwood, rose, jasmine and you start with the fragrance vocabulary itself.

Our guides are organised across all three.

Shop Fragrance by Room

A bedroom calls for a different fragrance than a hallway. A bathroom asks for freshness and whilst a living room asks for hospitality. Our room by room guides recommend formats and scent families for every space in the home.

Understand Compositions and Materials: What's Actually in a Luxury Home Fragrance

Every home fragrance is only as good based on its raw materials and the materials are where the difference between mass-market and niche-grade reveals itself. Our candles are blended in soy, both plant-derived, burning cleaner and longer than the paraffin most retail candles still use, finished with cotton wicks free of metal cores. Our incense cones are pressed from natural resin bases, agarwood, frankincense, benzoin and sandalwood and bound without the charcoal accelerants that produce the harsh smoke of commodity incense. Our diffuser oils sit in a refined, plant-derived carrier that draws fragrance up the reed or burns cleanly without the chemical residue of mineral-oil bases. Our room sprays are alcohol-free that releases concentrated fragrance without the dry sting of an alcohol carrier.

The fragrance compositions themselves are blended in-house from a working library of essential oils, absolutes, resins and high-grade fragrance oils, sourced from suppliers we have personally vetted across France, the United Kingdom and the Gulf.

Where the natural extract is available and sustainable, we use it. Where the natural source is endangered or commercially unviable at our scale, we use carefully built fragrance compositions that capture the character without depleting the source.
